iPhone SDK is out

Due Credit: News.com
After much ado about it, Apple has come out with the beta of the iPhone SDK in a move that is being seen as Apple's bid to make inroads into the Enterprise.

Having been a totally consumer oriented company, the move is corporate appeasement is closely being watched and there are several announcements that are as such not much clear.

What is known as of now is that the SDK will be available to developers to download for free but if they want to market their software through App Store ( which is the only way to legally sell iPhone applications by the way), a one time fee of $99 has to be paid. And ofcourse a percentage of the sales goes to Apple as well.

Apple will be the sole distributing authority for iPhone applications and developers indulging in unfair applications deployment will have their accounts erased.

The question is whether the new model will gain Apple some share in the corporate world, perhaps providing a relief from the BlackBerry offerings.

Zumobi changes the UI for mobile internet

Due Credit: TechRepublic
Zumobi, the firm that licenses technology from Microsoft research has found out a novel way to bring in advertising and also to enhance user search experience over the web.

Browsing from the mobile phone is gaining traction but the traditional methods are not exactly best for the right experience. With a limited screen size and bandwidth, research is required in the area of alternative user experiences for the mobile internet.

Zumobi's technology consists of presenting the web to the user in the form of 'tiles' that are the sites that the user has selected. New services are added as new tiles and users can also program and share tiles across mobiles.

The tiles carry on them the advertisements, hence keeping away a lot of clutter from the browsing experience. The SDK for software development is available for free and can be downloaded at Zumobi's website.

Cheaper & better LG enV

Due Credit: LG mobile and Verizon
The design still isn't perfect, but the LG enV is a high-quality messaging and multimedia cell phone. The LG enV offers an impressive feature set, an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard, and decent call quality.

The new LG enV for Verizon Wireless has been one of the most anticipated cell phones of the autumn season. As the successor to the popular LG VX9800, the enV (or VX9900) inherits its predecessor's QWERTY keyboard, high-end feature set, and admirable performance while offering a number of refinements that make it both new and improved. Again, there are some design complaints, but for messaging and multimedia addicts who've outgrown a T-Mobile Sidekick, the enV is a solid choice. For now it's priced quite fairly at US$150 with service

Samsung's Mobile TV craze

Due Credit: Muncle.com and Akihabara News
In electronics industry every organization maintains a specific target, to show and explore their excellence and engineering supremacy. For example- Nokia focused on Mobile phoning technologies, Sony they focused on many thing but supreme on visual & audio technologies (even in their Sony-Erickson phone you will notice they have better visualization & Audio compare to other phones). I was a bit confused about where Samsung is heading, since they have reasonable success in notebook computers as well as mobile devices (I will keep the home entertainment and accessories out of it).

Samsung announced (November 22, 2006) that they are introducing a new mobile TV phone to the Italian market this month through Telecom Italia. Since it's almost end of the month, so expect it within one week swarming Italian market (rest of the Europe will follow maybe in next few months). They name this exceptional model, SGH-P930.

World's smallest satellite phone

We are talking about satellite phone, which is way too much large in size compare to the cellular phones we are enjoying. Well this was true few days ago, not anymore those are also getting smaller.

48 hours ago Global Star introduced world’s smallest satellite phone GSP 1700. The phone measures 225cc in total volume and weighs 200 grams (including battery). The height is 135 mm, the width is 55 mm and the thickness is 37 mm. The antenna, when held in a vertical position, communicates with the Globalstar satellite at elevations more than 10 degrees above the horizon. The Globalstar antenna rotates and stows into the handset for convenience when not in use. The key specifications are:

Mobile Chocolate Treat from LG

Have you ever craved for chocolate? I bet you did and you still do. Well here is the chocolate treat from LG with KG800 mobile phone of chocolate collection series. This phone already has won the 2006 Redot design award, for its slick and chick design. I myself a user of Sony Erickson, previously Nokia, have to admit never seen so fantastic looking fashionable phone. Unique, Articulate, Exquisite – these are just a few words that will enter your mind when you first take a glance at the KG800’s luxurious look and feel. The KG800 is a mysterious thing concealing a screen and a touch sensitive pad that glows red to show you exactly where to gently press. Not only that but if you slide the phone open it will reveal even more; a keypad and 1.3 mega pixel camera with flash! With features like these it’s no wonder why it won the coveted 2006 IF Design Award in Germany, the Red Dot Design Award and the Mobile Choice Best Fashion Phone of 2006 award! The features that will get your attention:

A phone that touches your senses-W830i

Within two weeks (more or less) Sony Ericsson will introduce its Walkman Smart phone W830i to Oceania, US and European consumers. Japanese client’s already have the opportunity, earlier than everyone to use it. The W830i Walkman phone takes you one step further in the mobile music evolution. Design is triple-faced - it's a mobile phone, it's a quality Walkman player and it's a camera. Still, it's sleek, elegant and compact. W830i - a phone that touches your senses. In addition to playing online & stored music I liked the Music recognition part. This option allows you to upload a portion of a song and send to SE’s unique TrackID system to let you know everything about that song in a flash.
