Asus's dual treat for gamers
Remember last time I covered an story on Asus Lamborghini, well looks like Asus finally got tired of making laptops with Lamborghini badge, has unveiled its first ever machines for hardcore gamers with deep pockets.
Looking to compete Alienware's LAN-party invitations are the 15 inches G1 and 17 inches G2 packing Core 2 Duo processors, up to 160GB hard drives and up to two gig of RAM. Graphics are powered by either by Nvidia's latest GeForce Go 7700 with 512MB of memory, or ATI's 512MB Mobility Radeon X1700, two extremely capable performers.
But while we're drooling over the specs, we're positively flattering over the extra gaming touches Asus has abundantly presented. The keyboard gets specially highlighted W, A, S, and D keys, while an extra OLED display above the Esc key shows useful info such as instant messages of VoIP caller IDs, usually obliterated by full-screen games. Illuminated LED strips in green or red react to on-screen action while surround sound is attempted with speakers mounted on the front and sides.
A built-in high-resolution webcam and speaker allow wire-free video conferencing anywhere without the hassle of tangling wires. Gamers can now see and talk to teammates or opponents around the world, making gaming more real than ever before!
To satisfy the most demanding viewing standards, ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology integrates different multimedia data sources to reduce noise and conversion rate for a vivid display. Users can enjoy vivid images with better contrast, brightness, skin tone and color saturation for all video applications. The "Game" and "Night View" modes are great for extra gaming effects that not only sharpen image details but also enhance outlines required for underlying stealth actions.

I got a hand on even Alienware too which they say Gamers Laptop, but still lacking. Laptops are not yet flexible/good enough for hardcore gaming, just not yet.

Depends on what kind of computer you're looking for, and how badly you need it. If it can wait, then let it wait, especially now that newer technology is hitting the market, it probably is the best time to wait for prices to fall.
Otherwise it simply depends on what you need it for...
